#1. Winter's Bone - I loved Winter's Bone because the main character was a fighter. She could've easily given up, not take care of her mother, not take care of her siblings and just ran off in the navy but she didn't, and that's why i really liked her.  Her strong accent also made the story as well.  The main character did a wonderful job playing this role.  The use of frontal lighting and low-key lighting was used very well.  I picked this as number one because it told a devastating story and made me appreciate my own life much more.
#2. Social Network - This movie had so many memorable line line such as, "he broke the 375 year old door knob" and "welcome to facebook".  Performance wise i think the main characters did a great job.  This film was based on our times today which i think is why i really like it.  Facebook is something almost everyone has and to see a snip it of how it began was very informational. Very good use of light and dark lighting.  I ddin't like how it would switch times, go from future to past, it constantly confused me.  Overall this film was great because it is relatable to today's world and the technology.  The guys spoke so fast it was sometimes hard to hear what they were saying but they did say so,e good stuff, great and clever writing.
#3. True Grit - It's funny how i hate old Westerns but yet this movie is very high on my list.  The dialogue stands out because its different, no one these days speaks like that.  The meaning behind the girl trying to find her father's killer was a good one i think overall i think there was no real moral to the story.  But it did have a good use of dark lighting which gave the film a sense of scary and darkness.  I liked this more than I others because I liked the main girl.  She had guts, attitude and wasn't afraid to use it.  She had a goal and no matter how many times that guy whipped her and wasn't giving up.  Great writing and different use of speech.
#4. Toy Story - Come on now, who doesn't love any of the Toy Story's, young or old?  I think the story telling was great you didn't have to be rocket science to figure out what they were talking about.  Performance was good because you really can't go bad with animation, especially toys!  Great high lighting and frontal lighting.  With so much lighting it kept the viewer happy, well except for the secret meeting.  Everyone loves to kick back and watch a plain and simple, movie where you don't have to think hard and get confused every 2sec! That's why i place this movie #4.  The style of writing was great because it was very understandable.
#5. Inception -   I felt as if it was retelling The Matrix.  Performance was good, who doesn't like to watch people kicking each other's butts?  Maybe it's just me but when a film is dark majority of the time it kind of downs my mood a bi. Maybe I'm just a punk :( anyways, tGreat use of low-key lighting.  Overall i don't think there was a story to tell.  It had nothing to do with how humans actually are and our dreams,  Very unrealistic.  It's just a fun confusing movie.  The placed this at #5 because it was a good movie but i didn't like how it left me confused most of the movie.  There was no moral or "aww" which are my favorite things to gain after a film, for me at least.
#6. The King's Speech - This movie was sooooo boring and pointless!  I don't feel as if it told a story besides was fear for his speech and his mumbling and stuttering.  The performance was good because of the accents, I don't know, I like accents, well sometimes.  It had a good use of soft lighting.  Although i know this is how times were back then, i was really pissed when his own daughters bowed down to him.  And i didn't understand why he was so afraid to give the stupid speech, was it because it was his last? But he's given so many before!  Bottom line, this movie sucked, which is why i rated it #6!  But on the other hand it had good writing, the old school feel gave me a sense like when they were talking, they were actually saying something significant, since they were royalty and all.

REVIEW OF LOVE AND BASKETBALL

Love and basketball is my favorite movie of all time.  It stars Sanna Lathan as Monica and Omar Epps as Qunicy. Which he is so cute by the way.  Every girl would love to have a love like theirs. Grow up together.  He is the reason for your permanent scar on your face.  Its just a really cute story.  Its both for a guy and a girl becuase it has that "chick flick" aspect but its about basketball, so it has something for each gender.  Two songs that i grew to love becausre pf this both are, "You made a fool of me" which is just a nice mellow song if you're ever feeling down in the dumps because of a boyfriend or girlfriend. Also, "A woman's work" which plays when the two childhood friends begin their relationship.  It just talks about how wonder a woman is which im pretty sure any woman would love to hear.
